Steel Ume Necktie
Ume means plum in Japanese. Plum trees were introduced to Japan in the 8th century from China and since then their importance as a symbol have remained. Images of plum trees and plum tree flowers can be seen throughout Japanese culture and these symbols hold great importance to the people of Japan.
Plum tree flowers have come to represent many things in Japan. They are thought of as a sign that spring is coming, because they bloom early, even earlier then cherry trees. But they also have other meanings as well. Many Japanese people believe the plum flower is a sign of good luck and a harbinger of good health. Some even see the plum flower as a protector against the negative forces of evil and demons.
The Steel Ume Necktie is made from high quality cotton from Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. It is printed with steel gray, white and red plum tree flowers and will hopefully bring you good health, good luck, and a little protections from the forces of evil.
